A brief history of Hulen Meadows

Hulen Meadows

Established in 1966.

Hulen Meadows was established in 1966 by Lorraine Hulen Curtis, who envisioned a picturesque neighborhood nestled in the Smoky Mountains north of Ketchum. Her aim was to create a community where residents could immerse themselves in nature and gather at the Hulen Meadows Park and Playground, the social heart of the neighborhood. Ahead of her time, Lorraine’s decision to bury phone and power lines ensures that all 171 lots enjoy unobstructed views of the stunning hillsides.

The community borders BLM and US Forest Service land, featuring two trailheads and easy access to Nordic skiing, biking, running, and hiking trails, along with the Wood River Trail and Hulen Meadows Pond.

Our neighborhood is managed by a board of nine dedicated neighbors who oversee our water system and community assets. For property management, we partner with Jon Gilmour of Sawtooth Property Services and Tanja Green of Sawtooth Mountain Management.
